To get Austrian papers ("Typenschein"), first you have to ask the police for a "Verlustanzeige" (a paper that says that the Typenschein has been lost), afterwards to the "Bezirkshauptmannschaft (BH )" to get a "Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung". With the last paper, you can get a duplicate at the competent "Typisierungsstelle" (depends on the region where the car was last registered).

Where did you get your Doka from? Maybe the seller can help you to find the last official owner? In which country are you now?

I bought this nice Crew Cab in Germany, from Joachim Brosi, through mobile.de
The vw come from östreich, without any paper... i just have nothing about this Doppel!?!. No licence plate, no papers, motor is absolutly DEAD, and it needs some body work.
I just have roll number. (chassis number 26 1.....)
With Politie, no way?

Where do you live? Maybe in your country there is a easier method to get the car registered... "There is always another way"

If the car was registered in Austria - does it still have a green sticker on the windshield? On that sticker you have also the last known plate number...
In Austria, cars have to be checked regularly, each year; and after passed through the tests, they get a white sticker if, and a green one if not catalyzed.

Are you sure the car is not a "dirty" one? If it's really a '72 model, the 4th digit of VIN is "2"

First of all, I made a mistake: a '72 model is identified by the 3rd digit of the VIN, not the 4th - the 4th is always a "2" from model '70 to '79.

Then: the sticker is the green one on the top of the passenger side (the SOS-Sticker is not really helpful in this case ). It shows the last registered plate number, and also how long the car was regularly on the road. Can you give me month and year of the sticker?

yes, the license plate number, if it is that, is EU44HR. It could be a right for an immatriculate number in östreich? (the letters wrotten juste after is WW70921) ===> How to know where the crewcab is from, the last driver name, have any info about the car?
Is it possible to obtain a DUPLICATA (green card in USA, Grey card in France, pink paper in Belgium, and little book in Östreich?)

Short translation:
You have to make a complaint or at any Austrian police station, or at your police station together with a translation into german.
To get the Clearance Certificate (f: purement? i: nulla osta), you have to indicate plate number, make, type, VIN and engine number, and they ask 32,70 Euro for it.

As far as I know, you get the duplicate then from Volkswagen Austria. This is also what the Austrian Motor Veterans Association (http://www.oemvv.at/rechtlich/Typenschein-Leitfaden.pdf) says; they suggest to ask before at the immatriculation office if the vehicle data exist in their computer - if not, you need some more papers...

It was not possible to get more information from the sticker number - they are not allowed to give vehicle information on the phone.
So you have to go there in every case. It is necessary that you can prove to be the actual owner of the car, with something like a contract.

Usually, the Doppelkabine is named as "Typ 26-50PS" on the front of the Typenschein (Doppelkabine is Typ 26, isn't it?).
And "Prüfplakette" is the correct name for the sticker on the windshield.

Hi!
my crewcab need a lot of work for instance, brakes, no motor, sheet metal parts, interior, and i will place new rear sheet metal to have a T2a model (little tail light).
So i don't think the crew will go this year.
But we (N2C members) look to go at other en new for us meeting (Austria, England, Deutschland, neederland...)

A friend is looking for a type 21 (T2a one only, if you see one... piero0072@wanadoo.fr)
