What is the exact size of lower ball joints and holes in spindles?

Hi!

This is a question for the REAL experts!
My LOWER BALL JOINTS simply won't go in with a 12ton press. Also I had them at a mechanic's place with a 30 ton press and he gave up trying after ONE MONTH!!!

So I am now sure that these MEYLE ball joints are too big.

The holes in my spindles are 47.7mm wide, and the part on the ball joint that goes into the hole is 48.5mm wide! So that is a difference of 0.8mm!!! This is too much, no?

Can anyone tell me what the exact official measurements of these ball joints should be? Does anyone know?

I think you might have bought the heavy duty version for worn out holes

The correct number for the ball joints is 251407187-Z.
This Version should fit in easily.

OK, this really helps because mine are 251407187 (no "Z") ...also another friend found out that the over sized ones are 48.6mm and the normal ones are 48.3mm... and guess what??? Mine are 48.6mm exactly!!

So somehow someone made a mistake and got me the wrong ball joints.

OK! Very interesting because the oversized version is NOT listed on the MEYLE site. Very long story but obviously MEYLE put the oversized ones into the standard size box!!! By the way HD does not mean oversized, it just means "strong version".

MEYLE will give a refund but it will take 10 days to send a new LBJ so I will buy a different one... I am asking for advice about which makers are the best and worst... I started a new topic for this question:
