Hello!

I am a native English speaker in Darmstadt, and just bought a Dutch '79 T2 with dormobile roof and original westfalia interior. My German is not terrible, and hope to be able to offer as much help as I will no doubt ask for!

The dreaded TüV is tomorrow, so I guess after that I might have quite a few questions about parts and repairs! Probably "what is the closest T2 welding specialist" !!!!

Went down to TüV Hessen today, but have to go back tomorrow. Apparently being open 0700-1800 doesn't mean you can bring your car in then, only till 1500.....despite them saying when I went before I can bring it in anytime I do love Germany sometimes :)

Thanks for the tip re: Seewald! Was there today. At the TüV this morning, needs 5 small holes welding and new tyres and I'll get it through!

Seewald quotes me for replacement of all rusty areas with complete new metal everywhere it is needed (more than the bus cost....) but a very reasonable amount for just the necessesary, so it is going in on Friday. Getting there slowly!
